Discus advise please

Postby teamjd » Mon Aug 27, 2012 7:30 pm

I have a 200l tank which is currently stocked with 11 tetras, 6 corys, 2 bristle nose cats, 2 rams. Im wanting to add 4 discus.

Is this a good idea?
3 of the corys are still small, will this be a problem?
Is the tank big enough?
Is the tank overstocked?

Some input would be great

Thanks

Depends on the physical size of the tank and what sort of tetras.

no

Is the tank big enough?
Yes

Is the tank overstocked?
no

The temp will have to be raised for the discus. This will suit the rams but not the bristlenoses or some tetras (depending on what you have). Some tetras are too boisterous and will upset the discus, or beat them to the food.
