Feather Fin Catfishes are difficult to care for and, generally speaking, don't like sharing a tank with other fish. They have been known to be very territorial, especially when breeding, and have long life spans (over 18 years). They sometimes get along with other catfish.
They need to be kept in a large tank, larger than the one you have. Same goes for the common plec. They both need a 4ft minimum.
They need lots of rocks and caves to hide in and like live plants to live in.
I suggest this is totally about territory and this may be resolved by putting them in a much bigger tank.
