Alternatives to cories?

Postby JezTaylor » Mon Jun 17, 2013 1:51 pm

Hi all,

I'm looking to add some catfish as the final addition to my 64l tank. They'll be joining 2 platies, 6 neon tetras and a beta.

Cories seem to be by far the most popular option and I think some pepper cories would go nicely in my tank. My concern is that cories need to be kept in groups of at least 6 (or so I've read). Do you think I'd be running the risk of overstocking my tank if I did this, or are they small enough that I can get away with it?

If this is a bit too much, are there any other small catfish that would be happy living in a group of 3 or 4?

Thanks for your advice

Cories come in varying sizes, some quite small. Choose the smaller ones and you will be fine.
