Tank size and parameters would help someone answer it faster..

Do you know by any chance what kind of plecos they are. Some stay small but most get really large.....large like 2 feet!!

A large plec in a smallish tank would have some health problems esp if they have been in for a while because their growth would be stunted leading to internal organ problems.

I know you have had your tank set up for a while and it has been stable but all kinds of things can happen to effect water quality. Can you test your water for ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates and post the exact numbers.

oh and also you mentioned having treated him. Can you list what you have tried so far it may be really helpful.

i dont know the name of them but hes never really grown since ive had him he use to always hide inside a rock but over the past month he started to come out more. The nitrite levels are 0.01mg/l and the ammonia is 0.0mg/l - 0.1mg/l its inbetween i treated him with esha 2000 its meant to be harmless to other fish plants and not affect the levels.

It's very difficult to diagnose something when you can't actually see the fish :?
Your readings are showing slight traces of Ammonia and NitrIte, when was the last time you changed some water?
Are any of the other fish showing symptoms?
Does your Plec stay on his back all the time or just every now and then?
Does he look anything like this?, He could be an Ancistrus (Bristlenose Plec) - they are very quirky and will sometimes spend time on their back.
Does his belly look swollen/very dark?
Have you seen him poo recently?

There are so many questions, sorry :?

oh no Im so sorry. One thing to note for your own peace of mind.

many times when a fish seems ill and all the water tests are normal and all the other fish are fine and you cant find a reason the answer often lies in something that has happened to the fish previously that you were unaware of. Perhaps he went through some disease or water quality stress before you got him and his life span was shortened because of it.
