Planning to get more Polypterus

Postby moocowmoneybox » Thu Aug 18, 2011 4:03 pm

As my tank is now down to 4 fish i have been wondering what to add and have decided to get more Polypterus.

One issue could be the current beast of my tank...Spotty my Ornate Bichir, who is at least 16" long.

I have an Aquastart 320 that i can use as a quarantine / growing tank and was wondering what size to grow the new fish to before putting them in the Rio 400

Nothing to do with your thread, but how is Spotty after her abseiling adventure?
All the advice I give is based on my own personal 30 years of experience.

she is fine, seems like a 4ft drop doesnt bother them
Of course she was always going to be OK out of the water due to having the 'lung' function, it was the drop to the floor that was my main concern (and getting coated in hay and sawdust!)
