hi im new to the forum and just wanted some advice, i have a male betta and a new female, i havent seen them fighting but she doent seem too impressed by his advances, im worried she might be nipping his fins...do i keep her in the tank and take a chance they will find love or will she keep nipping him??? thanks for any advice :)

They can get really vicious and she could kill him if she is seriously interested and he isn't - or vice versa.

This two need to be separated until they can be conditioned to mate. They have to get past the territory and dominance issues first. Divide the tank to keep them apart but so they can still see each. Learn the signs of when they are ready to mate.
