Betta with Neon's?

Postby JamesB » Thu Dec 29, 2011 12:50 am

Could I keep a Betta with Neon Tetra's or would something go wrong?

Hi James,

I currently have a number of tetra's with my betta with no problems. Just need to make sure there are no problems with the betta being aggressive when you put it in the tank for the first few days.

Some will coexist happily, depends entirely on the Betta, other's won't, it's a gamble I certainly would avoid

Ive had no problems with keeping the two together. In fact its been perfectly with all my fish which has been quite a few species.

It never hurts to add the Betta to the mix last, that way he's going into their territory rather than the opposite, which might make him feel fringed upon (if he was added first  )
Just getting back into fish-keeping after a few years away from it.

It is possible your betta will lose his tail.
