Postby Moo2 » Sun Jul 21, 2013 11:43 pm

my betta is active, but i could have been overfeeding him. he's in a filtered 5-gal. today i saw a lump on each side of his body. they weren't there yesterday. his water is good. what could this be?

Hi,

You might have already got this sorted...?

But if not, are the lumps the same size roughly? and are they pretty much located from near the middle of the fish to the back and sort of oval shaped?
(a picture would help if you have one, to be sure)
It could well just be their swim bladder if so... and nothing to worry about. Its just more visible in some fighters than others
3 Male Guppies, 8 Neon Tetras, 6 Harlies, 6 Ember Tetra, 16 Cory's (Pandas,Albinos,Sterbais,Green/Orange,Julii),
5 Amano Shrimp & 40+ RCS
3 Scarlet Badis, 3 bristlenose
Pair of Apisto Borelli

and outside of the tank...
1 German Shepherd :)

If they come and go it will be food as it passes through.
