Any ideas?

A cool new area of The Tropical Tank forum for coldwater fish and aquaria, and outdoor ponds.

Any ideas?

I have four small Oranda's in my tank. I feed them the usual small sinking pellets and everything with the water is just fine. However, the white parts of the fish, particularly around the mouths, has taken on an orange tinge? The fish seem to be in robust health, is this something I should be worried about?
Many thanks, in anticipation.

hi there make sure your water is fine ammonia and nitrites are 0 as long as the water is perfect and the fishes are definatley orangey and not pink/red then it could be that they are male and are maturing, males flair their colours to impress females, the males will also do this if a new fish is added to the tank
