Mosquitofish in 40l aquarium.

Hello there! I literary just got back from the lfs with a few plants and some other goodies and while I was there I noticed that they had quite a few Mosquitofish in with the rosy reds. Now I think these are one of the most interesting and charming livebearers around and have been wanting to get a few of them ever since I did an essay about them in school and was wondering if a 40l aquarium (50.8 x 25.4 x 30.5 cm) would be enough room for a couple of these fish? And if so how many?

Also sorry if this is the wrong place to be posting this.

Sorry I can't help you as these vicious fish are banned in my home country of New Zealand. I don't know if they are an allowed species in the UK.

Sorry to hear that. It’s a shame that people have to introduce such voracious species to take care of a problem that the native wildlife already had under control.
