BOTTLED WATER

Hi although I am not new to fish keeping but I am trying something new, I have started using bottled water, my tank is aprox 86lts and I have put 30lts of bottled water in when I did a part water change, the water had a very distingtive orangie tint would this be to much bottled water?

I wouldn't really expect an orange tint to come from bottled water, like tap water it should be colourless. Have you added any bogwood/driftwood or similar? Or used any peat in the filter or "blackwater" products? These would be more likely to cause an orangey-brown tint to the water.

I am also wondering what you are trying to achieve by using bottled water?

Hi, I am using bottled water mainly because very soon we are going to be charged for the amount of water that we use, I have been using bog wood for a number of years and have had no problems, the water only became discoloured after I stated using bottled water.
