Tiger barbs

Postby skooby » Tue Sep 18, 2007 8:51 pm

I'm thinking of keeping a shoal of tiger barbs and have read posts and the article on the main site about their tendency to fin nip usually being greatly reduced buy keeping in bigger shoals, and I wondered if this was still the case if the the shoal is made up from the different colour varieties?. In other words will say 4 tigers and 4 green tigers act as 1 or 2 shoals?

Thanks
Stuart

You can mix and match the different colours of Tiger Barbs and they'll all shoal together.

I'm getting about 9 normal and one green one so that my sister can name the green one.

keeping differant types of the same species is usually ok( dependant on the species)
you should be fine with differant types of barbs but try to get them all at a similar size and add a few at a time over a month.
