Stocking my 65l tank

Postby goggo84 » Sat Sep 01, 2012 9:36 pm

Ok so i have took the plunge and bought a 65l tank. I would really like to stock this with tetras and some panda corys as bottom dwellers. I was thinking of 4 panda corys as i know they like to be together. I also want some tetras and really like rummy nose, cardinals and columbian tetras. Could i get all of these tetras? I know that i need to add these over time but can this be done? How many tetras could i fit in this tank?

What are the actual dimensions?

Your tank would be the minimum size for these fish. The Colombians I would recommend you leave out as they need a bit more space.
Get (over time) 6 rummys, 6 cardinals and the pandas.
Make sure it is well planted with plenty of free swimming space in the middle.

Thank you very much for the advise. Would it be possible for me to add any more fish that swim at the top of the tank or would i already be at my limit. Thought about some hatchet fish or something like that. Would really appriciate your advise as i want my fish to be happy

Not sure I would add hatchets as they are very nervous and need to be in a good sized group and the tank isn't big enough.

It is hard for me to say as the fish available in your country differs from what we can get here. I like a lot of small fish of a single species together.
