To post an image you need to have it in a file sharing place like Photobucket, Image Shack or similar.
There is no way to identify your cichlid without an image. If you can't figure out how o put up an image. email it to me and I will do it for you.

You are thinking blue acara or Jack Dempsey. Of the 2, I would go for acara but I am not a cichlid expert, you get more of them over there than we do in NZ, and there are many hybrids out there.
The blue acaras you get today look nothing like they did when I started fish keeping years ago.

Yeah thanks Hampalong as
She has been in tank a while it's become apparent it's a jd looks female to me ,what do you think ? It's turned really black and the red and blue on the dorsal are really bright ,I was sold it as a blue acara but I looked at it in the lfs and kinda hoped it was a jd and kept quiet as it only cost £2, bargain I think ,thanks for reply Alan :)
