what side is heater reccommended to go?...intake or outlet off the pump and filter?...

I have mine by the inlet so it can circulate the heat around the tank

If you have the type that fits inline on the filter tubing (like the Hydor ETH), then it's normally placed on the filter output that returns to the tank.

If you have a separate heater in the tank itself, then it's not too critical as long as it's in an area of reasonable flow. A lot of people like to place it in the opposite corner to the filter output, so that the current is flowing towards it from the filter.

thats good..mines by the outlet,just thought if its by the inlet then it goes into filter(and cools?)then back into tank few degrees cooler than expected...
just a basic heater for now..will be hunting down the correct plug in 1 as time goes by..
