Zebra danios should be OK at 26*C in the short term. Tanks often go up to that during summer when the lights are on.

The last dose is a sweep-up I think -- just to pick up any stragglers. If you are still seeing spots a week from now I believe the instructions are to repeat the treatment but you can cross that bridge if you come to it.

Checked this morning and all is looking promising.

The clown that had at least 8 spots on last night has only 1 viable which is good. They all look normal too, swimming around and not too stressed.

That does sound promising -- a good indication that the free-swimming stages are already in trouble.

Im going to prepare for a 2nd course of the treatment as although no more spots are appearing they are not clearing very fast and I want to be sure its gone.

Im on my 3rd day of treatment but not the last day is wednesday. So I treat on day 1,2,3 & 6 my question is after the day 6 treatment do I wait before I start again or go straight back to day one on Thursday?

What instructions do Waterlife give for re-treatment?

You are only 48 hours into treatment now but your medication is up to strength. The work is being done and the fact you are seeing no more spots is an indication that it is working. The lifecycle has to complete to kill the remainder.

Are the fish looking OK. Ammonia and nitrite still zero?

It advises 48 hours for changing treatment but nothing for re-treatment.

Fish all seems ok as far as I can tell and levels are still 0 so fingers crossed

Thanks :)

The plot thickens!

Checked my ammonia level this morning and its up to around 0.5-1

I've put some prime in this morning before I left for work will they be OK until I get in from work tonight?

I hope its back to 0 when I get home if not I will do a water change. Will the protozin have caused this? Or is it just the fact the they higher temps are highering the metabolism as I fed them last night?

On the plus side the white spot is disappearing slowly.

Protozin is not supposed to harm filter bacteria but you don't have a mature tank so it was more likely that it would.

The Prime will help with the ammonia. About a fifth of a teaspoon of salt would help with nitrite if it shows up. I think Prime also has instructions for nitrite. Ideally you'd not do water changes while the meds are still active.

Last Protozin dose tomorrow isn't it?

It is yea last one tomorrow.

Checked again tonight ammonia is still the same and 0 nitrite though. The plants seem to be dying though which won't be helping the ammonia I presume?

Ah, I missed you had added some live plants - I thought it was just artificial. Take them out if they are dying because they will release ammonia. You've got enough on your plate at the moment.

Its fair to say I think the plants where causing the ammonia:

Image

Look quite dead at the bottom....

Only plant I have in there now is this which was given to me by a friend, any idea what it is?

I cant thank you enough for all your help!

The top plants are ok, just snip them off above the rotting mess and plant them as single stems. Tweezers help. If they want to float just chop them in half and plant both parts.

The bottom one is probably an Anubias of some sort.
