Guppie health

Postby reeve38 » Tue Sep 04, 2012 8:43 pm

Hi all. One of my Guppies has developed what looks like a small hole on it's right side of her head between her eye and her gill and she is hugging the surface like she has a lack of oxygen. She is feeding ok and all the other fish are ok. Has anyone got any ideas to what is wrong.
Many thanks

Never heard of hole in the head being caught by guppies. It is a disease known in oscars, other large cichlids and saltwater fishes.
It could be a parasitic infection or an injury. Can you get a good pic of it?

Sorry to hear that. The trouble with an infection like that is that by the time you notice it, it is often too late for the fish.
Keep a close eye on the others in case it was an internal infection of some kind as it is probably contagious.
