Aggressive dalmation Molly

Postby lisah » Fri Sep 28, 2012 8:06 pm

My dalmation Molly has suddenly become aggressive towards my silver tipped tetras. He keep trying to bite them. He has never shown any aggressive tendencies before and I have no idea why. Please advise ASAP

He has grown and probably reached sexual maturity and is now showing his dominance. He may settle, one he has assured himself of his place in the tank, or he may not and you will have to decide whether to rehome him or the fish he keeps harassing.

When I first set up my tank my male dalmatian molly harassed all the other fish in the tank including the female of the species. Now the tables have turned and the female is bullying him to death. He spends all day behind the filter and I have to feed him by himself in a net to keep him alive.
He may have a growth on his eye, but I can't be sure.
They have never bred, despite lots of courtship activity in the beginning (I think the pH is too low - 6.7)
