Aquarium Lighting

Postby lucky57 » Thu Oct 04, 2012 1:14 pm

Hi all
The lighting on my 450L Juwel Rio aquarium is not working, i have changed the lights 2 x T5 54 watt and the fuse in the plug, the light will flicker but not stay one. I have decided to change the hood and lights but am unsure what is the best to buy as a replacement.

Try a new starter, if they are coming on and flickering, it's most probably that....

The other thing that might be worth trying (have done it on previous Juwel tanks) cut out the switch and rejoin the cable, sometimes the switches go

Hi Englishmx
i tried your suggestion, but the aquarium light is still not working, i think its a fault with the actual lighting hood. I am now looking for a replacement lighting system any suggestions? My local aquarium quoted me £180 for a replacement lighting section of my hood!!

Shame :(

Yes, not going to be that cheap on a Juwel 450! Is it definitely a Rio? Not a Vision or a Trigon?
