poorly spotted purple goby

Postby thermalthong » Wed Dec 19, 2012 11:12 pm

Hi i have noticed of recent a type of 'growth' appear on the side of my spotted purple goby. It looks to be on the side of the head by the fin and gil on the fishes left side. It dosent appear to be causing it any issues but i know it should not be there and so does the fish! Any ideas what it is and how to treat it? i have put some pix (best i could get sorry) to show you what i mean.....

how it should look...

Hard to tell from such poor pics but it could be damage or a gill infection.
Keep the water quality up and it may heal on its own. If it appears to be bullied by the other fish then separate it.

Its not bullied, they all get on fine and i keep on top of the tank (been away hence a bit mucky) but otherwise i will keep an eye on it and as you say, hopefully it will heal.
