I'm fairly new to tropical tank but after reading a lot about this problem I beleive a couple of Assasin Snails will dispose of all of the pest snails for you ? I have sand in my 64ltr tank and am thinking of getting a couple of Khuli Loach, not sure if these may help keep snails at bay too....

Snails, I am sure we have spoke about that before  Overfeeding I still consider the main cause, they need to eat and any food left lying around is theirs. When i've had wee outbreaks in the past, usually with new setups/plants etc. I remove the ones I can by hand and considerably cut down the feeding for a good few days.........not got a snail in the house  They are part of the 'eco system' mind, but I'm not a fan off them in my tanks

The tiny things on the glass I assume are seedshrimps, I've got them in one off my shrimp tanks at the mo and can't shift them, admittedly I am feeding at bit more and not cleaning/manually removing them as I would usualy as it's overun with new shrimplets so I don't want to interfere too much. The other tanks are clear. I have Googled and read around quite a bit and there seems to be nothing out there that you can dose to 'get rid'. Agreed they are unsightly but thankfully they are realtively harmless

In both instances, yes there are fish that will deal with it, but they inturn will also deal with any shrimplets

Try a tad longer or feed a lot less, assuming the tank is mature with either plants/moss/bogwood about there is plenty in there for the shrimps feed on :)

Not sure what else to suggest Annie, if it's been 1 and a half weeks, I would give your shrimps a small feed, if they don't quickly 'jump all over it', their not that hungry and doing fine :)

thanks for all your advice guys, so far absolutely nothing has worked, im at the end of my tether. Went to lfs yday and they offered a snail stap or they said i could make one. So obviously i went with that one as it was free, just stuck abit of potato in a bottle left it overnight, so far it has not worked. Im running out of things to do. The lfs said i could get a puffer or loaches or assassin snails but they will all eat shrimp and all the snail treatment will kill shrimp also so im stuck :(
Thanks,
Annie :)
