Flicking platys

Postby beaujacob17 » Wed Sep 03, 2014 8:50 pm

Hi everyone!!

I have a few platys that are flicking against bogwood and other decor, I can see no signs of white spot other than the flicking, what can I do to stop a white spot outbreak? Tested water ammonia 0, nitrate 50, nitrite 0, gh 250, kh 100 and ph 6.8. Many thanks

Try just raising the temp to 28 - 29C for a few days. If they are starting an outbreak this will speed up the cycle. You might get away with it not worsening.

They should be ok at the suggested temperature as long as the water is sufficiently oxygenated.

If you see definite evidence of whitespot I would start a course of medication.
