I got my Rams!

Postby Roni » Tue Sep 25, 2007 8:31 pm

ans I LOVE them! What neat little fish!

Was looking a BN too, but no shop around here has them and they tell me they cannot order them (don't get me started on the quality of the LFS near me  ).

Any other ideas on algea clean-up? No ottos please. I have bought them a few times, put them in, never to see them again

I'll see if I can't get a few snapshots this weekend David!

The LFS did say they had a rubberlip plec. I haven't really had time to look him up yet. Might get to it today.

Snails work too right, I mean, if I can't find a suitable fish. But with snails, don't you have to add something to the water to keep their shells hard? I have not had any problems with my water quality and I don't want to start adding things and making it go out od wack!

the ammount a snail would eat is miniscule.
plus ifyou have an algae problem you may end up with loads of snails(excess food gets them in the mood)

an lfs that cant order fish? they mut look forward to there weekly deliveries(not knoing whats going to arrive)

A rubber lipped plec would be fine. They dont get too big. You need to make sure you have algea in your tank for them and maybe some real wood and then give them some cucumber occasionally.

Thanks guys & gals, I will check out the rubberlip. I do have some algae (not overrun with it though) and a few pieces of wood.

I know! When I asked them about ordering a BN, they told me that if it was something they didn't have before, they couldn't get it! There are no "privately" owned shops here, only chains. Most of the people they have working are collage kids just trying to make an extra buck. I just wish they were a little more knowledgable and willing to help
