Next Fish Going In Tomorrow

Postby Superman » Fri Oct 12, 2007 7:28 pm

So, my danios have been in my tank for a week now and when I popped to the LFS tonight they had some little baby tiger barbs. They were new today and couldn't buy them till tomorrow morning.

So, I'm planning an early start and go and get them as I'm out from about 11am.

Do you think that I should provide some cover for them as I've removed my cave as some fish got stuck in there last week.

They're really small, would say less then 1cm in length and don't want them to be scared by the danios.

Any suggestions?

Not meaning to rain on your parade, but I'd ask the LFS if I could pay for them and QT them for me for a couple of weeks. I never buy brand new stock - you can't tell if they've got any nasties :?
All the advice I give is based on my own personal 30 years of experience.

Know what you mean, was thinking about that myself.

The LFS in this case was Pets at Home so doubt they'd save me the fish.

Just don't want to miss out on the little ones, if you know what I mean. Most tiger barbs I've seen are bigger.

Added them just about 20 mins ago.

They seem to be getting on well with the danios, they (danios) keep going for a look and then leave them alone.

Most tiger barbs are in a shoal moving around the bottom getting used to their new place.

I've been out for most of the day, but they seem to still be getting on well.

I fed them for the first time only a few minutes ago and some took some good but others kept hiding.

They seem to like swimming around taking a look following a leader and then go back hiding under the filter.
