Angel Fish Breeding!

Postby nhenson » Sun Apr 29, 2012 8:53 am

Was coming on here ask about keeping angel fish, but overnight things have changed!

We have three, two larger one (presuming males) and a smaller one (presuming female), the males have been have a go with each other for weeks, and I was going to ask if a second female would calm things down?

But this morning we have about 100 eggs attached to one of our filter pipes and the older male and female are guarding them with their lives, all other fish are at the other end of the tank! Some eggs are white some are almost clear?

Am I correct about them being eggs? How many will (if any) hatch into baby angels? How long does it take? And do I need to do anything over and above the normal?

angels can surprise you.....

the white eggs are un fertilized, any unfertilized will turn white...normally within 48 hours.

the parents sound like they doing a good job, they will guard the clutch with gusto....other fish will soon learn to keep out of the way.
humans are the only race, with the intelligence to save the earth...shame we have the ignorance to ignore the salvation!!!!!

Thanks, how many hatch successfully? And idea how long it takes?

I'm going to need a bigger tank!

Will I need to put them in a nursery net?
