Adding Neon Tetras?

Hey all,

Today I added a Betta into my tank which also holds 4 Platies, I was just curious when I could add Neon Tetras into the tank as I don't want too destabilize the tank with regards to bioload, how long will I have to wait until I can add the Tetras? And how many are recommended? I am also considering a Ghost shrimp or something similar. My tank is 35 litres.

If any more information is required I will be glad to provide it.

This is where test kits are handy. If the tank has cycled, the ammonia and nitrites should be 0.
Whenever you add more fish the readings will rise a little before dropping back to 0.
Once they are 0 again, you can add more fish.

Ah right! Well i've got a liquid test kit so no worries I'll test the water, the small rise in ammonia won't hurt them will it? + I'm going to need to a small school of Tetras - 4 or 6, will the Bioload of that amount of Tetras equate to something of a medium sized fish? I just don't want them harmed

It should be such a little rise it will barely be noticeable.
Depends on the size of the tetras

Also got the ceramic rings in the filter now , thanks for that! Do they need any maintenance at all or changing every once in a while?
