Fluval Roma 240 lights

Hi all, it's been a while since I posted and things have changed. I have a shiny new Fluval Roma 240, and things are going very well (photos may be forthcoming). I've planted with a variety of plants (I'll give a list if needed, but it's nothing too demanding from what I can tell - I don't really know what half my plants actuallgy are!). I have a fertiliser-substrate under gravel, and occasionally add fertiliser, but my plants are suffering from yellowing (spots on broad leaves). I also have a bit of a green algae bloom (not a huge problem; the oto's, ruby-finned shark, gouramis seem to enjoy it). I suspect that the problem may be (a) a lack of iron or (b) lighting. I doubt it is (a), due to fertilisation. I feel it may be lighting. I have 2x T8 tubes, on for about 10 hours per day. I was wondering if an upgrade would be beneficial (stronger light, but on for less time = better plants and less algae). I know the Roma's light unit is a bit annoying (can't just put T5's in), and I'm slightly unwilling to mess around with it (two suggestions on t'web are (i) remove t8 unit completely and replace with t5s, but this is beyond my capacity, and (ii) add a t5 in addition: see http://www.aqcenter.net/topic/473-fluva ... g-upgrade/ - I may be able to do this but would prefer not to).

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with putting in an LED (e.g. http://www.seapets.co.uk/products/aquar ... 360mm.html), which I think can fit into the T8 sockets with one of these doo-das: http://www.warehouse-aquatics.co.uk/arc ... clips.html.

All idea's gratefully received!
