New Filter

Postby 5Tracy5 » Tue Feb 12, 2013 10:36 am

Can anyone recommend a decent filter for a 120l tropical tank? I’ve currently got an interpet filter which came with the tank and it’s not very good

Thanks!

I'm thinking external. Are they better for a 120l?

Thanks

External are generally better. I would recommend a FLuval 206 or 306, 306 would be lots of over filtration which isn't a bad thing just depends on what your budget is.

when you do change filters keep your old one and new one running at the same time for at least 4 weeks and then you shouldn't get any mini cycling going on in the tank as the new filter will be able to build up the bacteria levels whilst your old filter keeps everything stable.

Fluval 206, tried & tested and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them :)
