air pump in sump

Hi I was just wondering wether I could take the air stone from my display tank and put it in my sump ? Would this affect the oxygen levels dangerously in the water and affect my fish,,,,could somebody help with some advice thanks Alan

Why do you want to do that? An airstone will only cause problems if you are running CO2 as well, otherwise they are usually only there to look pretty. They are useful for added oxygen if medicating a tank otherwise don't necessarily do a lot, nor are they a requirement.

As said not strictly needed.

Some do put the air stone into the sump, to ensure a well airated
Environment for the bacteria.. Personally i wouldnt bother as there should
Be enough movement thru using the sump system to keep levels up.

I removed my airline when i went to all real plants.. With no detrement
To fish health. 8)
