Gravel

Its a long story but I have changed from a 90 to a 125 L tank.
I want to used new gravel, I was thinking of white quartz type or small pebbles from the garden center as the proper stuff is so expensive, I was going to wash it all in tap water then rinse in treated water before adding will this be ok?
Will pebbles be ok as I havent seen a tank with them in before?

use pee gravel, and make sure it is realy well washed ,i have some in my tank ,i allso boiled in salty water ,then washed again in tap water, bit over kill some peeps but better safe than sorry,i allso use pebles from garden centre ,the naturel ones used for decorating the top of plant pots, about 1/2 inch in size,,put them in hopeing the egg scattering fish might use,,and they look good,i prefer the plane natural look rather than the shiny bright coulered pebbles ,but thats just my pref, hope this helps,    :D

We live in a dis-used quarry so when we set our tank up I used some of the chunks of stone from the quarry , cleaned it a few times with boiling water.
