Fish identification

Postby atom64 » Fri Jan 30, 2015 11:15 pm

Hi all,

I've joined this forum in the hope someone can identify these 2 species of fish i have in my tank that I'm looking to sell due to a house move.

I've been keeping fish for years, ametuer breeding etc but can't remember these names when i bought them several years ago. They have grown somewhat due to the size of the tank they are in.

Once moved i would like to try Discus with a new set up,,lovely fish.

Anyway, i will try pictures first, otherwise it will be a link to Bucket.

Hope you can help.....3 - 4 inch in length

Hi,

The barb in the top picture is Hasselt's barb / Hard-lipped Barb, Osteochilus hasseltii.

The Characin in the lower picture isn't so clear but looks like an African tetra, probably the African red eye tetra, Arnoldichthys spilopterus.
