Postby liltezza » Sun Jul 01, 2007 7:32 am

hi guys,
ive had a tank for quite a while now and everything has been fine until recently my plants have been dieing on me..i have changed the charcol and the other filters and also the water a few times...but it still keeps happening when i buy new plants.

My poor clown loaches have also suffered and they have died as well..after cleaning the tank several times and buying new catfish the fish still ended up dieing with my plants.

what do you think is the problem????
help me out :(

What is the tank size and what are the water parameters. Don't buy anymore fish until you get the problem solved.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear of your problems. Hopefully, we can try and get things sorted for you. So, as jzaine said, we need the size of your tank and the nitrate, nitrite and ammonia levels and when you last tested. We also need to know:

How long the tank has been running (clown loaches in particular are very sensitive to water quality)
How you started the tank (i.e. cycling procedure) if it's a fairly new tank
How often to change the water and clean your filter media - and how you do it
What fish you have in there!

If you can give us this information, we might be able to make a start.
Thanks :D

We also need to know how much water you change and how you clean the filters.

As above a full description of everything is needed.

Try to list everything in the tank as well as everything you do to the tank including water test results. Hopefully it will give us an idea of whats going on.
