i bought a small 25 litre tank as a quarantine tank but the light on it is very intense. the box says its an 11 watt pl light. it has 2 bars, one white and one blue. it only connects at one side.

the problem is i cant find a replacement anywhere. does anybody know about these lights?

thats the light the top bar is white and the bottom bar is blue. but together it is very bright in the tank. a little to bright. the blue colour kills any thought of a natural enviroment

http://www.aquadistri.com/en/detail/A4050025/sf-aqua-40-panorama-black is the tank set up (minus the heater i had to buy separate) the description on the box for the light just says "11 Watt PL light"

try this place:
http://www.aquarium-parts.co.uk/acatalog/copy_of_Aqua_One_PR12_Compact_Luminaire.html

that seems to cover the type of lamp you have Very Happy

alternatively you could head off to your local aquatic shop and have a look through their range of 'compact flourescent' lamps. Take the current lamp to be sure you get one with the same fitting.

If you are using the tank as a quarentine tank, then really you dont need the light on. The fish will feel more secure and less likely to stress out, therefore making possible issues less likely.
