shocked Tony with the two teaspoons in the tank.... he came in the room and thought I'd started doing some sort of feng shui (spelling?) in the tank!
So far the plec, the chinese algae eater and the clowns have had a good munch, so thanks for the advice re spearing the cucumber with teaspoons! _________________ Hils

| Cucumber, Couchette, Prawns and Muscles are a favourites with mine. The rest of the fish seem to prefer prawns though hah. |

I've got a tin of those freeze dried prawns.... but they just seem to float around the top .... they probably sink after a while but I've never quite seemed to be around if that does happen, so I've never seen them being eaten. _________________ Hils

You could try pre-soaking a few in a cup of water and see if they sink. I've never tried them but they don't look like they'd be very ready to sink. _________________ Becky

good plan. I'll try soaking some. They're horrible dried up little things... can't see that they contain any nutrition at all. They came in a tin, so I couldn't see the contents... would have been much cheaper to buy a huge pack of frozen prawns..
anyway, I live and learn.
THANKS

I just buy a pack of giant prawns from the supermarket and stick them in the freezer. Once or twice a week I take a few out, stick them in a cup and pour a small about of boiling water from the kettle on them to defrost them. Then I used to buy the "Bunched plants" or "Leaded plants", seem to be called different things in different places, and I just use the weight from them around the tail of the prawn as the fish will just rip the rest of it up.
A lot of us use the Screwcumber. They're really good. Highly recommend them. |

Hils if you would like a screwcumber pm me your address. I have one I've never used because I had a pack of two. I don't even keep plecs now so it's redundant. _________________ Becky
