GUPPY/PLATY FRY ADVICE

SOME ADVICE PLEASE.I HAVE SOME TWO WEEK OLD GUPPY AND PLATY FRY IN TWO SEPERATE BREEDING TRAPS.THEY LOOK REALLY HEALTHY AND ARE FEEDING WELL.I WAS JUST WONDERING HOW LONG I SHOULD LEAVE IT UNTIL I RELEASE THEM INTO THE MAIN TANK I HAVE SET ASIDE FOR THEM.THERE ARE NO OTHER FISH IN THIS TANK.ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GRATEFULLY RECEIVED.

Chuck them in now if they are the only fish going in the tank. They stand a far better chance in an open tank. Make sure you have plenty of hidng places for them. And the tank is cycled or at least give the filter from the tank the traps are in a good squeeze into the new tank, this will start the filter off.

when you say make sure there are plenty of hiding places for the fry does it need to be plant? i read somewhere that marbles or pebbles are a good hiding place for fry.

They will hide in the gravel or marbles but a few bushy artificial plants work as well. You dont have to plant the tank with live plants.
