i've been on here a while so i thought it was about time to let you know how my tank looks.
its a 60l tetra aqua-art, and i've got 5 rosy barbs (3 females, one of thems a long fin, 2 males, one of thems nearly a long fin) and a golden barb in there (they're very camera shy)
i'll be getting a bigger tank soon and i'm tempted to give you all a diary of how its going
anyway, heres the 60l.....

cheers! i've always preferred natural looking tanks, and i think i've done an ok job as this is my first tank.
the next will be a biotope and the plan i have in my head will look brilliant! just hope i pull it off how i'm planning! i've already researched all the fish and plants. the only thing i might have trouble with is the substrate, but what i intend to do for that should still be a pretty close resemblance to nature, maybe a bit more research on that will help! _________________ Juwel Rio240 W/Tetratec EX1200 & Rena Smart Heater.

i've really enjoyed all the research for the biotope. unfortunately it wont be a true biotope though, as the golden variety of china barbs (golden barbs) arent found in nature. however, this has given me the chance to choose some fish i wouldnt have put into the biotope. (i was probably far too particular considering my opinions of biotopes have changed recently)
maybe if i can ever convince the other half to let me get another large tank i'll go all out with the biotope idea..... i'm planning on buttering her up by getting some colourful fishes for her in the small tank _________________ Juwel Rio240 W/Tetratec EX1200 & Rena Smart Heater.

i actually got all the decor from the local pets at home. i went in there the other day to see if they had anything i could use in the next tank and there was nothing at all apart from a few plants!
the biotope i planned is based on the mekong river basin, and i managed to narrow it down to fish that are all found on that river, in laos. unfortunately though, like i said the golden version of the china barb isnt found in nature. and one of the other types of fish i want is usually found in shallow, still water (appose to flowing streams). so technically it wont be a biotope, but hopefully it'll look a treat anyway _________________ Juwel Rio240 W/Tetratec EX1200 & Rena Smart Heater.
