Ah good, thanks for that. I dont think i asked i think i just presumed he was a common plec. Yours is impresive looking. They are great fish to watch, very graceful but mine can be a bit of a bully, he likes to rule the tank and he will just barge into any fish in his way.

The rest know he is the boss of the tank and are learning to move when he comes around. I say he but it may be a girl i have no idea but he looks male to me. He just has an air of male about him :P

hehe thanx.
id not say hes bullying your other fish, there just a very clumsy fish, they are very peacefull fish but can get agressive/terrortorial with there own kind.
as far as i know its virtually impossibe to sex sailfins and breed them in a home aquarium

I suppose with them being so big they cant help being clumsy in a tank where the rest of the fish are so much smaller than them. The rest have probably just realised that it is best to move lol.

Your plec is quite light and patchy compared to mine, he is brown with sort of dark brown spots.

ahh they change colour alot, some of its camoflage the other is mood.
if im messin in the tank cleaning etc hes goes a milky colour, when hes left alone n happily swimming hes very dark yet when hes resting on the sand he does go lighter.aslo plecs do have differant patterns/colours

alot of fish do this(colour changing) it can come in usefull as if they go off colour it can be the 1st signs thats somethings wrong.

also usefull when buying fish if there colours re nice and deep there usually happy n healthy,i never buy anything that looks "off colour" a sure sign somethings wrong.

It is difficult to get good piccies through the tank and i am not great at taking piccies at the best of times.

Hope you arent too tired from your double shift.

I'll let you do it first, then if you havent been chucked in the slammer, maybe the rest of us will be safe to stream away :D .
What can I do about a green algae problem with my tank?(200ltr freshly cycled?)Markee pointed me towards too much lights on time, which I've now reduced, but things just keep getting greener :(
