Spotted Congo Puffer / Leopard Puffer



Common name:Spotted Congo Puffer, Leopard Puffer
Scientific name:Tetraodon schoutedeni
Synonyms:(none)
Size:Up to approx. 4" (10cm).
Origin:Central Africa.
Tank setup:A small species setup or community tank with selected companions.
Compatibility:A fairly peaceful puffer, which rarely bites the fins of other fishes. There can be some aggression towards their own kind.
Temperature:24-26oC (75-78oF)
Water chemistry:Freshwater species: pH around neutral, soft to medium hard.
Feeding:Live and frozen meaty foods: bloodworm, krill, pieces of cockle, mussel and prawn, snails.
Sexing:No obvious differences.
Breeding:Unknown
Comments: This puffer is rarely imported, so is consequently difficult to obtain.
