Origin:West Africa
Tank setup:Sand or smooth gravel substrate, with a few larger rounded stones and bogwood caves for refuges.
Compatibility:Generally OK for the larger community tank, likely to be territorial with other Synodontis catfish.
Temperature:22-26oC (72-79oF)
Water chemistry:Fairly soft, around neutral pH (6.8-7.8).
Feeding:A scavenger that feeds on any food it comes across, feed sinking granular/pellet foods and frozen/live foods.
Sexing:Unknown
Breeding:Unknown
Comments: This fish is quite rare in the trade. The body of the fish is a mottled yellow/brown, while the fins have a brown-on-yellow spotted pattern.
